Earthquake

I'm not a man who likes to gamble
My defenses deep, my precautions ample
I thought I'd found my niche
And built my life on solid ground.

What I took for granite was all my fault
My best intentions crumbled like salt
The very first time I saw her
My walls came tumbling down

She hit me like an earthquake, (an earthquake)
Her lovin' makes the ground shake (the ground shake)
When I kiss her lips, there's a distant rumble
My composure slips, my defenses crumble...
EARTHQUAKE...

Now, feet and inches are bound to fail
You gotta measure this woman on the Richter scale
You could take my blood pressure with a seismograph
Each time those kisses start

I can't protect myself by standin' in a doorway
Her fault line runs from Argentina to Norway
I lie awake and feel the aftershocks
From the pounding of my heart

She hit me like an earthquake, (an earthquake)
Her lovin' makes the ground shake (the ground shake)
When I kiss her lips, there's a distant rumble
My composure slips, my defenses crumble...
EARTHQUAKE...

From San Francisco to Tokyo
No tremors out-shakes my mommy-o
This terrifying situation sure feels good to me...

There's a crack in the ground and I fell heart first
No tidal wave's gonna quench this thirst
Buried deep in love, I can't dig out
I may not even try...

She hit me like an earthquake, (an earthquake)
Her lovin' makes the ground shake (the ground shake)
When I kiss her lips, there's a distant rumble
My composure slips, my defenses crumble...
EARTHQUAKE...
