WRITE ABOUT STARS
(c) by Jim Stringer, Little Book Music, BMI
I could write about stars and how they shine at night
Point out what's wrong, and I just might be right
With a pen in hand, no telling what I'd do
But I don't want to write about stars, I want to be with you.
Now if you broke my heart, I could write about the pain
I could hop a freight and I could write about the pain
And my words might flow, like they sometimes do
But I don't want to write about pain, I want to be with you.
There's something about our love that feels so right
I want to kiss you first thing in the morning, and hold you all through the
night
I could write a book, compose a song to sing
Write for Hollywood, or do the Shakespeare thing
But my paper's as clean as my words are true
Because I don't want to write a damn book, I want to be with you.
